Overview
CKHRC is a Kentucky based non-profit organization that works to support harm reduction interventions throughout the bluegrass.
Our mission is to empower community members, leaders, sex workers, drug users, law enforcement, policy makers and other individuals to support and implement harm reduction strategies, policies and practices in their community. We also provide support and access for overdose, HIV, STI and hepatitis prevention and education for individuals who engage in high-risk activities. We believe in treating every person, regardless of their situation, with dignity and respect. Our non-judgement approach allows our members to move through their self-reliance at their own pace. We develop our relationships based on honesty, tolerance and cooperation to provide a safe environment for our communities.
What can harm reduction look like for my community?
Harm reduction can look like many things in your community. Harm reduction could include local syringe service program, narcan distribution, condoms for safer sex practices, community based training on how to respond to overdoses and other public trainings.
